Stop 3 - Site of Aaron Busey Home, Holladay (McCormick) Distillery
3. Site of Aaron Busey Home, Holladay (McCormick) Distillery, exact location unmarked. Busey purchased himself from enslaver, Jacob Busey. Employed by David Holladay, he took great pride in laying the first pipe for the limestone spring around 1856, which produced the first drop of whiskey and still in use by the distillery today. He purchased a 1.5 acre plot on the property, and lived and worked there until his mid-90s. In 1904, Aaron Busey was buried without a marker at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
