Stop 22 - Mary McLeod Bethune School, 806 Thomas

22. Mary McLeod Bethune School, 806 Thomas, originally German Methodist Church then Union Headquarters during the Civil War. Purchased by Weston Board of Education in 1868 for the Colored School and became the Bethune school around 1900. Mabel Emery Bell taught in the one-room schoolhouse from 1914- 1954. Now a private home. (See stop 18)
