Stop 29 - Dinah Robinson Courtyard, Weston

City Park at Main and Short Streets. Dinah purchased this lot in 1860 for $300 from her former enslavers, Rev. J.B. & Virginia Wright. An 1887 Kansas City Times article cited her as "An Example of Industry." September 13, 2021, the City of Weston dedication this courtyard in her honor. Bricks made by the enslaved, salvaged from the 1856 Renz Livery Stables (stop 24) are now displayed; 62 of the 200 memorialized bricks honor the lives of souls buried without markers at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
