11. Site of Transitional Housing, post-Civil War behind 718 Spring on Blackhawk. Union officer, Col. James A. Price fought to free the enslaved, and then helped give them a fresh start by building homes behind his own. In 1916, Evaline Woods still resided in one of the homes. She and her brother, Harrison Woods, were once owned by the Burden family.
